Today's outfit is one I'd typically wear on a night out or for a meal. The Fred Perry gingham tipped shirt in dark carbon colour was an amazing find. Shopping in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, over Christmas with Katie, we popped into the Fred Perry store, after checking out the sale we came across the shirt that was originally £80 and I got it for £24, absolute bargain.

The Fred Perry shirt is my favourite that I own at the moment, the logo, universally recognised gives a sharp and classy feel to any outfit. Putting the shirt together with my black stretch skinny jeans from Topman and my Dr. Marten 939 Ben Boot, it gives it a real smart casual feel, perfect for a meal out or drinks around town. I recently took Katie out for a meal too a restaurant called 'Dim t' in Winchester and I wore this exact outfit, it was perfect for the occasion. The meal was lovely and Katie looked great too.

I bought the Shirt in an XL which, as you know is just my style. The stylish and classic nature of the shirt can also be twinned with a more formal trouser.

Fred Perry designed this shirt to echo the early customisation of 1960s gingham shirts by their fans in the mod scene. The hand made finish to each shirt means that no gingham Fred Perry shirt is the same, which is a seriously unique touch and gives the shirt a personal feel. Fred Perry is one of my favourite brands. It's a classic symbol of elegance and style. Which, as I mentioned earlier, it's universally recognised and to me it stands for something. Originality and an understanding of true heritage.

How's it going?

So today's outfit is one of my favourites. Me and my girlfriend Katie, went for a walk this afternoon so I thought I would share with you my outfit.

The khaki oversized bomber jacket I'm wearing from Topman was a gift from Katie for Christmas and I love it. It's a colour I wouldn't of chosen for myself but it seems to compliment about every other colour in my wardrobe. It's stylish and slick design really make it a great statement piece for any wardrobe. The bomber jacket is an oversized fit featuring more room in the body offering a relaxed shape, because of this its an excellent piece of clothing for layering, recently I've been layering it on top of sweaters too keep me warm. I haven't taken this jacket off since I got it for Christmas. (Thanks Katie!)

The stripped grey oversized long sleeve T-shirt in this look is one I picked up in the sale from Topman around the start of October and since then it's been a great addition to my wardrobe. If you've read my other blogs you'll know I love minimal colours within an outfit, and this is perfect. The oversized fit with dropped shoulders is great, and although its oversized the drop shoulders on it means it doesn't loose shape. As I don't wear tight or fitted clothes much, coupling oversized T-shirts with tighter fitted jeans really is my style. Searching the website for this T-shirt and I can't find it, probably due to the fact they don't stock it anymore but I will link a similar alternative down below.

The next item of clothing which was a present for my birthday (29th December) from Katie is genuinely the best sweater I've ever owned, Katie has done so well. It's a navy lightweight sweatshirt which features an intricate crocodile skin texture, I've never seen or felt a sweater like it which makes it so unique, I love it. Katie got me an XL size which makes it baggy and gives it a good shape and feel for the perfect layering piece, coupling this sweater with my bomber is a great look and is one I wear on a casual day if I'm popping out anywhere.

Dunlop Black Leather Zip Up Backpack

Alright Serns,

How's it going?

This Christmas me and my girlfriend took a trip to Portsmouth to have a look around at the sales, I got a lot of vouchers so it would of been rude not too. We went into Topman where we found this Dunlop black leather backpack and we both instantly fell in love with it.

The backpack is a faux leather synthetic material with adjustable shoulder straps. The feel and look of the bag is great too. If you've been reading my other blogs you would know that I love simplistic, edgy looks and this bag fits the bill perfectly. the colour is important as it goes with pretty much everything I own, I've never been one of those lads to have a bright orange bag.

A bag is a must have accessory and it's probably one of the most useful things we can own. I can't wait to start wearing it properly.

We found the bag in the sale for £15, I've had a look on the internet but there isn't anymore in stock so I can't link the product unfortunately.

My Top 3 Jumpers At Topman This Season

So I've been having a search around for the perfect winter jumper this AW14, and where better to look than Topman. My style is dark and I tend to look for a simple design. High street fashion is affordable, and that's exactly what I'm looking for. Not only this but a stylish design and premium quality, if you look hard enough you can find all three.

1 // The first jumper I looked at was this basic navy oversized sweatshirt, it's cheap and basic - what more can you want? It looks great too, I have a grey plain sweatshirt myself and I love it. You can't go wrong - it goes with everything. The sweatshirt has deeper trims with a loose fit, although it maintains shape, it's a loose hang on the body. I love this as I wear a lot of baggy stuff myself but sometimes loose fitting items can make you look out of shape, but I'm very much enjoying
this look.

2 // The second sweatshirt is the salt and pepper boucle sweatshirt. The texture and detail of this sweatshirt is great, I love the colour too and if you wear a lot of dark clothing like me, it's a great piece to break up the colours. Another benefit is the sweatshirt is a great layering piece to any look. Personally I don't really like layering myself I find I get hot too easily and I just prefer to keep my look and style much more simple than having numerous pieces to make up a look.

3 // The third and final sweatshirt I looked at which I absolutely love is the TXNMY black rib sweatshirt, I haven't heard of this brand before but it looks pretty cool, if the rest of their stuff is similar, I will be checking them out for sure. This sweatshirt caught my eye because it's unique and that's what I love, individuality. The ribbed texture on this sweat really caught my eye, it adds great detail to any look and because of the plain and simple colours it will pretty much go with anything. It has a longer body length and dropped shoulders, this is perfect for me as, like I said I enjoy oversized clothes and because of the dropped shoulders it will maintain shape which I like.

OOTD #2

My look today was extremely effortless and very casual. I went on an adventure through Bristol taking pictures and sightseeing, so I thought I would share today's outfit for you, here it is.

The statement piece in my look today was my faux fur trim hood traditional parka from new look a couple of years ago (I will link this seasons equivalent from new look, which is extremely similar) It's my favourite coat and it's always a winner, it brings such style to a simplistic look, with draw strings on the waist it adds a fitted look or like me I just have it loose as I don't want to feel so restricted.

The parka is my favourite because it looks great and it's extremely up to date with fashion, the parka also has chest pockets which are so comfortable to leave your arms dangling with your hands staying warm. The faux fur hood is great, its also a good addition to the look giving an exaggerated appearance to the hood which breaks the colours up too adding to the outfit.

My black stretch skinny jeans from Topman are so comfortable, I used to like my jeans super spay on skinny but not anymore. My stretch skinny jeans still give me that skinny look but with a hire comfortable wear. I turn the bottom of my jeans up to create a cut off between my shoes and jeans with my white socks coming through and breaking up the dark colours.

My choice of footwear is the classic Dr. Marten low top shoe (1461) in black. It's a timeless classic, these are my favourite pair of footwear, it took me a while to break them in but once it happened I've never looked back. Dr. Martens aren't for everyone but the brand itself promotes individuality and a cutting edge in fashion so I love it, why be the same as everyone else?! They bring a real style to your look.

Essential Parka Coat AW14

In the last few weeks my girlfriend bought herself a brand new parka coat for the winter and here it is.

The faux shearling lined parka from Mango is a must have piece for AW14, it's an everyday parka which will help keep her nice and warm and ready for the cold whilst maintaining serious style.

Inside, the Parka has a detachable quilted lining which, when the spring/summer months start creeping in, is ideal for those warm days and nights.

The dark look is simplistic and adds an edge to her outfit and, with a draw string waist, it can change her whole shape and definition which is a great feature (which is, of course, not necessary!). The parka is great when trying to pull off the casual look as it goes nicely with a pair of jeans, whilst still maintaining a fashionable look.

I think layering is perfect with a Parka coat and that's a great look this AW14. Layering with similar colours and different styles and textures is an easy way to bring together an interesting style.

Although this particular parka is not so affordable as others, it is something that can be kept for years, as a parka is always on trend for the winter months. You could find a similar, more affordable style at shops such as New Look, River Island or H&M.

Day in the life..

Alright Serns,

Just thought I would share my day with whoever is reading!

-- Saturday 22nd November --

Me and my Girlfriend, Katie woke up at 11:30 and had to start getting ready to meet Katie's mum and step-dad for a meal in pizza express, being poor students we were excited as we don't really get to eat out much. Katie and I went for the same choice of a calzone classic, I didn't really enjoy it too much as it had a very heavy tomato flavour to it which I'm not really a big fan of.

Katie and I started dating at the end of April this year, since being together I've probably eaten out at pizza express about 20 times, it's Katie's favourite restaurant if you hadn't of guessed by now. The weird thing about it is that every time we go Katie has the same thing to eat over and over again, the American pizza. Full up on dinner now we then headed off with katie's parents to do some shopping in Cabot Circus (Bristol) although not buying anything it was great to have a look around and see what the high street shops have on offer for this seasons collections.

Having departed ways with Katie's parents we then set off getting ourselves sorted for our night out ahead at The Lanes (Bristol) for our friends 20th birthday. With 10 cans of Fosters in our hands we headed off to pre-drinks at our friends flat.

Arriving at the Lanes for the night there was a band playing called 'Dexters' who were absolutly quality and everyone in the room was going mad for it. It was great to see friends I haven't seen for a while too and everyone had a great time, I'm looking forward to going back soon.
